Our School

We beleive in fun, exploration, community and connection.

Our Philosophy

At Out of the Box Academy, we nurture compassionate learners who treat others with respect and empathy. Through daily interactions, shared experiences, and guided reflection, we create a warm environment where children feel safe to express themselves, celebrate differences, and support one another’s growth. Kindness isn’t just taught—it’s lived every day.

Class Size
Commitment

We maintain a maximum of 12 children per class because we believe every child deserves to be noticed and given undivided attention. No two children learn at the same time or in the same way, so our teachers differentiate lessons to close gaps or exceed levels based on your child’s unique abilities.

Individual
Attention

Every child at OTB has their own Individual Education Plan (IEP), ensuring we understand their unique strengths, challenges, and learning style. With a maximum of 12 children per class, our teachers can differentiate instruction, close learning gaps, and help advanced learners excel. We don’t just teach—we connect with each child personally, celebrating their individual journey.

Strength in
Teamwork

We believe great things happen when children work together. Through collaborative projects, group activities, and our Survival of the Fittest program, students learn to communicate effectively, share responsibilities, and value each team member’s contributions. These experiences build essential life skills—cooperation, leadership, and the understanding that together, we achieve more than we ever could alone.

Culture of
Kindness

At Out of the Box Academy, we nurture compassionate learners who treat others with respect and empathy. Through daily interactions, shared experiences, and guided reflection, we create a warm environment where children feel safe to express themselves, celebrate differences, and support one another’s growth. Kindness isn’t just taught—it’s lived every day.

Screen Time &
Play Philosophy

We encourage limiting TV, laptops, tablets, computers, and cell phones. Children need to experience boredom and learn through play. Boredom encourages imagination and creativity, develops problem-solving skills, helps children form relationships, builds confidence, improves mental health, and creates a sense of belonging. Don’t stunt their natural growth!

Sports
Philosophy

Sport is a major part of our curriculum. We focus on rules, sportsmanship, equipment, court positions, and more. Children are exposed to new sports every 6 weeks, and matches/events are held at the end of each term where all children participate.

What Parents Have to Say

"I remember the day my mom & I went looking for a school that will best suit my daughter with her learning abilities. From the moment we arrived at the school having a chat with Teacher Shannon, I knew that my daughter would be in the best possible hands with regard to her education. The support we have received & the total shift in growth, confidence, and mentorship within my daughter. I always say choosing OTB was one of the best decisions ever for both myself and my daughter. It's a pity the school doesn't go up to high school. I'd recommend this school forever & ever."

“OTB has been a remarkable support for our child. Since joining, we have seen significant growth not only in her academic performance, but also in her confidence. The nurturing care, individual attention, and consistent guidance provided by the staff and teachers have truly helped her to thrive. She feels encouraged and valued, and we are deeply grateful to be part of the OTB community.“

"Choosing to move our son, Joshua, from the government schooling system to Out of the Box Academy was the best decision we could have made for his development and overall well-being. The difference we’ve witnessed in his enthusiasm and progress is nothing short of astonishing. In his previous environment, he was often lost in the large classroom setting. He seemed disengaged and school mornings often involved a struggle. Since starting at Out of the Box Academy, the transformation has been absolute. He now practically leaps out of bed on school days! The dedication of the teachers here is truly remarkable! They don’t just teach a curriculum, they see and nurture his individual strengths. The smaller class sizes allow the educators to provide the focused, personalized attention that was impossible in the larger system. His confidence has soared, both academically and socially. We feel immense relief and gratitude, and we wholeheartedly recommend this school to any family looking for a genuinely nurturing and high-quality educational experience."
